Pod Buddhism
For iPods, Podcasts, and Escape Pods...
Buddha Zhen launched the ZEN BUDDHIST PODCAST of SHAOLIN ZEN and has developed a new audience of half a million fans, students, disciples, friends, and listeners of all religions.
The podcast started off with Buddha Zhen leading his audience through the shaolinZEN.org website, while telling personal tales of family life and being a Mr. Mom househusband who raised his kids while their mother worked for the Xerox Corporation.
Next, Buddha Zhen began reading his Buddhism Basics, which he wrote for teaching his children the basics of becoming a good Buddhist.
Buddha Zhen's Life in Utah
The Mormons forced him into a corner?
They galvanized his Buddhism.
The more they pushed, prodded and bugged him, the more his Zen Buddhism protected him.
In a similar way his nonviolence became tempered or untampered. Lots of Karate Black Belts tried to pick fights with him. Sometimes they would show up at his public classes heckling, insulting and goading him into a fight...
Somehow, Buddha Zhen never fought a single one, and several became devoted Disciples of his militant nonviolence.
Cybertemple of Shaolin Zen
The Shaolin Zen CyberTemple starts at
www.ShaolinZen.org/cybertempleZ.html
I have storyboards and poster drawings of the various scenes and animation that will take you to lots of cool animated pages... when I find someone who can build these pages.
I don't want to reveal too much, because it will be very different from any Kung Fu school or Temple I've yet visited, and much more fun and intriguing. My style of Shaolin Zen, the CyberTemple of Shaolin Zen.
Shaolin Zen is not a "real" church. Rather than create a nonprofit religion, I decided to create the Tai Chi Youth nonprofit organization instead. So, if you want a tax-deductible donation -- donate to Tai Chi Youth.
If you want to just help me, Buddha Zhen, to keep developing this website -- I'll accept donations / gifts -- whatever they are called legally. I'll call it income.
Thanks for your support or just hanging around -- no leaning on the furniture. (School rule.)
House of Zen is the House of Zhen
Since 2000, the House of Zen has been a California sanctuary for troubled youth.
Buddha Zhen's cabin housed a heroin addict for the summer. He became a wonderful friend, kicked all his drug habits. This resulted in several relatives donating clothes and money in appreciation. He'd been a drug addict for more than six years.
I originally referred to my home Kung Fu schools as, "House of Zhen," since I am Buddha Zhen and it is my house...
After a few years I decided to change the home school name to "House of Zen." I like that better.
I've notice though that on the PayPal buttons for PRIVATE LESSONS, I used the name, "House of Zhen," so that it was obvious where I was referring to.
My new Kung Fu school is BUDDHA KUNG FU.
Unless you enroll in Shaolin Chi Mantis, you are in my Buddha Kung Fu school, as of 2008.
The Shaolin One-Handed Bow
You don't have to immitate my One-Handed Shaolin Bow. Stick to your regular "Prayer Hands."
We, as Shaolin Disciples, have a unique tradition that no other religion on earth has, the one-handed bow.
Do you know what it means?

Description: LEVEL 1 = Peace Of Mind
Arriving in Utah, in the dead of winter, a foot of snow, his wheels all freeze and go flat...
Then he gets evicted and lives out of his van that winter before finding an apartment for his cat named, Celise, and his IBM Selectric typewriter. (Which was stolen by some relatives but recovered by the Sherriffs...)
Recorded in Utah, this 4-track album was MASTERED IN UTAH, but not released until after Coyote was hundreds of miles away from the Mormons. (Most of them.)
Some songs from the LEVEL 1 cd are played on this podcast radio show hosted by DJ Coyote. Reciting poems, reading webstories, and performing songs live fill in the spaces between Coyote's jokes and comments on American Zen's Buddhist path to nirvana and enlightenment.
